Night Shyamalan Says "The Happening" is a B Movie 06-17-2008 (22:00:32) Director M Night Shyamalan sat down with CNN to discuss his latest thriller, "The Happening," which is in theaters now. When asked what message he is trying to convey through his movie, Shyamalan replied that ***THERE IS NO MESSAGE*** and that "The Happening" is simply a great B movie. "No. 1, it's a B movie. This is the best B movie you will ever see, that's it. That's what this is," said Shyamalan. "If there's other things that stick to your ribs as you walk out, that's great, but it's supposed to be, you know, zombies eating flesh." The film has been getting less that favorable reviews and many critics have actually labeled "The Happening" a B movie, due to bad dialogue and humorous scenes that were intended to be intense.
